On the one hand, a quintuple-bagel price tag seems massively high for a truck.
On the other...
Ford Super Duty marketing manager Brian Rathsburg said a typical target customer is someone who tows a $250,000 horse trailer with million-dollar horses on board, or a six-figure boat, and is looking for a truck to match.
Makes total sense. Haul your luxury stuff while remaining in luxury. There will be people who’ll be more than willing to buy this thing, so why not make it available? It’s not like you’re trying to force it on everyone.

Finally, something more expensive than the Toyota tax.

I was just talking about that with a friend. It’s crazy expensive, but it’s also a pretty safe bet on Ford’s side. The F450 is a current product, The F350 probably has high class interiors it can share without much effort.
So, take things they already make, stick it in a package no one else offers, and sell it for a ridiculous amount of cash. They’re probably going to make a ton of money.
